Day 15

We drove from Dawson Creek to Ft. Nelson. It was a rather boring ride with very little scenery. All we saw were tree, trees and more trees. I got thinking about the young Army men in 1942. They were given an unbelievable task of building this 1500 mile highway in 9 short months. They bulldozed through mountains and forests and across rivers to provide a land route for supplies and troops to Alaska during WW11. AMAZING. This is a pic of the Peace River Bridge. It is 2130 feet across. This river was just one obstacle that they had to overcome.
