Day 25
Adventure to the Arctic Circle.
200 miles north of Fairbanks on the Dalton Highway (pipeline haul road) is the Arctic Circle. So David wanted to go and I asked why and he said cause its there and how many people can say they have been there. So we packed the truck with extra food and water and took off.
This is the haul road going north. The first 20-25 miles are narrow and rough-maybe they do that to keep the faint of heart away. After the first 25 miles or so the road go wider and smoother-in fact some parts were even paved. We left our campground at 7:30am and returned at 6:30pm. Worn out but with a feeling of accomplishment.
Animal sightings. 3 sleeping bunnies on the road and one fast squirrel..
Did you know that Alaska does not have a single mosquito? They are all married with large families!!!!
