End of May 2012 we entered Yosemite on the west side and saw all the sites that most people associate with the park like El Capitan Yosemite Falls and Half Dome. This year we entered on the east side and drove across Tioga Pass. We saw some beautful lakes and snowy mountains and Half Dom at a different angle. If you only have one day in the park I would suggest you enter on the west but the drive on the east side is great.
